WATCH | SA ready to host G20 Summit this weekend

The G20 Leaders' Summit is underway at the Nazar Expo Center in Johannesburg on November 22-23, marking the first time the event is held on African soil under South Africa's presidency, which it assumed from Brazil in December 2024. Minister Ronald Lamola confirmed participation from 42 countries, with China, Russia, Mexico, and Argentina absent from head-of-state representation. The summit operates under the theme of solidarity, equality, and sustainability, anchored by South Africa's priorities of strengthening disaster resilience, ensuring debt sustainability for low-income countries, mobilizing finance for a just energy transition, and harnessing critical minerals for inclusive growth. It concludes with the presidency handover to the United States on November 23.
