President Cyril Ramaphosa delivers the Keynote Address at The Global Fund 8th Replenishment

At the eighth replenishment summit of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria, co-hosted by South Africa and the UK, survivors from South Africa, Indonesia, Bolivia, and Nigeria shared emotional stories of resilience against these diseases through symbolic fabric patterns and poetry. Leaders including South African President Ramaphosa, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Norway's Prime Minister, Ireland's Taoiseach, Germany's Vice Chancellor, and Bill Gates announced pledges totaling $11.34 billion, with standout contributions from Germany (€1 billion), the Gates Foundation ($912 million), and others. This milestone, building on 70 million lives saved, reinforces global solidarity, health system reforms, and momentum toward ending the epidemics by 2030.
