Africa's Role in Global Development: Insights from the G20 Leaders' Declaration

Under the South African G20 Presidency, the group is advancing a multi-faceted strategy rooted in Ubuntu principles to address Africa's development challenges in finance, energy, food security, industrialisation, and technology. Key initiatives include the Africa Engagement Framework and second phase of the Compact with Africa for financial support, Mission 300 and clean cooking plans to combat energy deficits, Ubuntu Approaches and CAADP for agricultural resilience, sustainable industrial hubs with critical minerals frameworks, and the AI for Africa Initiative to bridge digital divides. These efforts aim to foster inclusive growth, reduce debt burdens and illicit flows, enhance infrastructure, and ensure no one is left behind through strengthened global partnerships.
