G20 SA 2025: a defining moment for the nation and the continent

South Africa has assumed the presidency of the G20, the premier global forum for economic cooperation representing over 85% of world GDP, and is preparing to host the Leaders' Summit in Johannesburg in November 2025. As the only African founding member, the country will champion an agenda under the theme 'inclusive growth for a just world,' focusing on sustainable infrastructure financing, energy transition, youth employment, food security, digital inclusion, and equitable market access to address Global South priorities. This milestone positions Africa at the center of international dialogue, strengthening multilateralism and driving actionable commitments for global recovery and sustainable development.
